My Curtain

I know curtains are easy, but I wanted to post this one that I made for the patio door in my bedroom because I LOVE the fabric. I got it at Mood Fabrics in NYC and it doesn't really go with anything else in my bedroom, but I don't care - I just love it.

Mothers Day Nightgown

This is my first project using a knit fabric. I made a nightgown for my Mother for Mothers Day. I wish I had a better picture, but I finished it last night and took a quick picture before wrapping it and sending it out early this morning. I used Simplicity 3696 and made a short version of View A with 3/4 sleeves. I used a WONDERFUL cotton knit fabric from Mood Fabrics in NYC. When I tried the nightgown on it felt so soft and cool that I wanted to keep it! I have some extra fabric so I'm definitely going to make some kind of night shirt for myself. Overall working with knit fabric was an easy, 'no fray' experience that I will repeat!

Summer Top

This is Simplicity 2892.  I used cotton gauze fabric, purchased from a website called Gorgeous Fabrics (www.gorgeousfabrics.com).  I LOVE the light weight of this fabric.  It feels and looks like summer!  I can't say I enjoyed sewing with it though.  It frayed all over the place (made me wish I had a serger) and stretched when I ironed it lightly.  Its fragile to say the least!  I do love the outcome though.

Bubble Dress

I saw this Oliver and S Bubble Dress made with Park Slope Turquoise fabric on the Spool Sewing website.  I liked it so much I made two just like it.

Robot PJs

I love Oliver and S patterns.  I used the Bedtime Story Pajamas pattern and flannel purchased at Joann's Fabrics to make these PJs for my son.  The pattern itself really couldn't have been easier, although now that the PJs are finished, I think they might be a little on the warm side.  I'd like to make them again with a light cotton.
